Temple is a fitness and faith app. Your body is not our product, and neither is your data. This policy says plainly what Temple stores, what leaves your phone, and where it goes. It applies to Temple, made by Nexflow Strategies LLC.
The short version
Food entries and recipes, body weight, workout sessions, runs (including distance and pace, computed on your phone), Bible study progress, your spiritual season answers and named struggles, private reflections, weekly goals, and Ask conversations. Your profile (goal, body basics, targets, rest day) and your Apple sign-in name and email, if you shared them, are stored there too.
Deleting the app deletes this data. It can also be included in your own device or iCloud backups, which Apple controls. We can't recover data you've deleted.
Ask (our AI provider, Google). When you send Ask a message, we send the conversation and a short summary of context so answers can be relevant. That summary can include:
It does not include your reflections, weekly goals, prayers or amens, food log entries, weight history, name, email, or location or routes. Google processes the request to produce the reply and handles it under its own terms and privacy policy. Temple uses a paid Gemini API project, where Google does not use what is sent — prompts, images, or replies — to train or improve its models. Nothing is stored on Google's servers between messages; Temple sends what is needed each time.
Photo and plan reading (Google). When you scan a nutrition label from a photo, or scan a workout plan, the image is sent to Google to be read, under the same paid-project terms above. Photos you take inside Temple are analyzed in memory and are never saved to your Photos library. If the AI reader is unavailable, Temple falls back to reading the label on your device.
Food lookups. Barcodes and search words you enter go to Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central to find nutrition facts.
Bible verses. The reference and translation for a verse (for example "John 3:16, BSB") go to a public Bible text service to fetch its text.
Apple Health. With your permission, Temple reads sleep, workouts, and active energy. It does not write anything to Apple Health. This stays between Temple and Apple Health on your device, except for the summary Ask may include, as described above.
Oura (optional). If you connect Oura, you either sign in on Oura's own page or paste a personal access token from your Oura account; Temple fetches your sleep summaries directly to your phone and stores the token in the device keychain. You can disconnect in More → Health or in your Oura account.
Notifications. Daily reminders are scheduled on your device. We don't run a push server.
Purchases. Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Like any internet request, the services above can see your device's IP address. We don't control their logs; each handles data under its own policy.
Information about your health and your faith is sensitive. Temple uses it only to give you the features you ask for. It is stored on your device, and the only faith or health details that ever leave it are those listed above under Ask, and only when you use Ask.
Because your data is kept on your device and not on our servers, there is generally nothing for us to look up, export, or erase on your behalf. If privacy laws where you live give you rights over personal information (such as access, deletion, or correction), contact us and we'll help with anything we hold. For data held by Google, Oura, Apple, or the databases above, contact them directly.
Temple is for people 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect, and update the date above.
